SKYWORTH C2 Canvas Art TV Targets Better HDR

SKYWORTH is expanding its lifestyle TV lineup with the C2 Canvas Art TV, a 4K display designed to work as both a television and a digital art gallery. Available in 55-, 65-, and 75-inch sizes, the new model brings QD-Mini LED backlighting to a category that often prioritizes slim styling over picture performance.

Mini LED Backlighting Raises the Picture Ceiling

The biggest difference between the C2 and many conventional art TVs is its full-array backlight with more than 400 local dimming zones. These zones allow different areas of the screen to brighten or darken independently, which should improve contrast when a movie combines intense highlights with dark backgrounds. However, SKYWORTH has not disclosed whether the zone count varies by screen size.

Peak brightness is rated at 1,000 nits, giving the television enough stated output to make HDR highlights more visible in suitably mastered content. HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support also lets the C2 process dynamic picture information on a scene-by-scene basis. Actual black levels, blooming control, and HDR impact will still depend on the performance of its dimming algorithm, which cannot be determined from specifications alone.

A Matte Screen Built for Art and Everyday Viewing

SKYWORTH uses its OmniView Matte Screen to reduce the mirror-like reflections that can make digital artwork look like content displayed on a conventional television. This should be particularly useful in living rooms with windows or overhead lighting, although matte screen treatments can sometimes affect perceived contrast compared with glossy panels.

The C2 is positioned below the higher-specification Canvas Elite model but inherits two of its defining technologies: QD-Mini LED illumination and the matte display surface. That combination makes the new TV more interesting than a cosmetic refresh. Buyers still receive the decorative qualities expected from an art TV without being limited to a basic edge-lit panel when switching to movies, games, or streaming content.

144Hz Refresh Rate Expands Its Entertainment Role

A 144Hz refresh rate gives the C2 more performance headroom for fast motion than a standard 60Hz television. It could benefit sports viewing and compatible high-frame-rate sources, but SKYWORTH has not specified the supported input resolutions, HDMI capabilities, or variable refresh rate formats. Those details will be important for buyers considering the C2 primarily as a gaming display.

Audio is handled by an integrated system with a built-in subwoofer and Dolby Atmos support. The subwoofer may provide more low-frequency presence than basic art TV speakers, potentially reducing the immediate need for a separate soundbar. Dolby Atmos compatibility does not guarantee room-filling surround effects on its own, but it broadens support for immersive audio tracks from compatible sources.

Designed for Custom Living Spaces

The television supports professional control environments through drivers for platforms including Control4 and Crestron. That focus makes the C2 relevant to custom installers integrating lighting, entertainment, and automation into a single home-control system. Optional hydroframes can be installed over the existing bezel in black, silver, gold, white, walnut, or a customized color and pattern.

Choosing among the three versions mainly comes down to room size and viewing distance because no size-specific performance differences have been announced. The 55-inch model should be easier to place in smaller rooms, while the 65- and 75-inch options provide a larger canvas for artwork and cinematic content. Pricing has not yet been disclosed. SKYWORTH plans to present the C2 at CEDIA Expo 2026 and distribute it through its authorized custom integration dealer network, with final pricing and availability details to be announced at the event.
