NUU X10 5G Brings Unlocked 5G to a $220 Phone

NUU has introduced the X10 5G, a new fully unlocked smartphone aimed at users who want modern connectivity without wandering into flagship-price territory. The phone combines nationwide 5G compatibility in the US with Android 16, a large display, expandable storage, and a 5000mAh battery, making its $219.99 price tag particularly interesting for budget-conscious Android buyers.

Dimensity 6100+ Handles the Everyday Workload

At the heart of the X10 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+, an octa-core chipset with integrated 5G connectivity. This is not hardware designed to chase benchmark records. Instead, the chip is positioned for everyday workloads such as streaming, social media, navigation, gaming, and multitasking.

The phone ships with Android 16 and includes 4GB of RAM alongside 128GB of internal storage. Four gigabytes of memory is fairly modest by current standards, especially for heavier multitasking, but the storage configuration is more practical. A dedicated microSD slot supports cards up to 512GB, giving users an inexpensive route to additional space for photos, videos, and offline media.

A Big 90Hz Display and 5000mAh Battery

The front is dominated by a 6.8-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The HD+ resolution reflects the X10 5G’s budget positioning, but the higher refresh rate should make scrolling and interface animations feel smoother than on conventional 60Hz entry-level displays.

Power comes from a 5000mAh battery, a capacity that has become something of a sweet spot for mainstream Android phones. NUU describes it as an all-day battery, although actual endurance will naturally depend on screen brightness, 5G usage, gaming, navigation, and background apps.

50MP Camera and Useful Connectivity Extras

Photography duties are handled by a 50MP AI triple-camera system on the rear, while an 8MP front camera takes care of selfies and video calls. NUU has not provided extensive sensor or lens details in its announcement, so the headline resolution is more informative than the actual photographic capabilities at this stage.

The connectivity list is surprisingly complete for the price. Alongside 5G, the X10 includes NFC for contactless payments, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual-band Wi-Fi. NFC is particularly useful on an affordable device, where manufacturers sometimes remove smaller convenience features to keep costs down.

Unlocked Design Is the X10 5G’s Main Attraction

The X10 5G’s most notable feature may simply be its carrier flexibility. It is sold fully unlocked with support for AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and most US prepaid providers, making it suitable for bring-your-own-device users who prefer switching networks without replacing their handset.

NUU will make the X10 5G available through its online store beginning August 16, 2026, with an MSRP of $219.99. A tempered glass screen protector is included with each purchase. For buyers prioritizing unlocked 5G, expandable storage, NFC, and a large battery over premium display resolution or huge amounts of RAM, the NUU X10 5G presents a practical collection of features at an entry-level price.
