Pudu Robotics is expanding beyond indoor service machines with the PUDU GT Series, a trio of commercial robotic mowers built for professional grounds management. The lineup includes the compact PUDU GT3, wide-cut PUDU GT5, and precision-focused PUDU GT7. Although all three use autonomous navigation and obstacle detection, their cutting hardware, working environments, and intended operators are notably different.

The shared concept is straightforward: automate repetitive mowing while retaining manual control for situations requiring direct operator input. LiDAR, cameras, and depth sensing help the machines recognize people, vehicles, animals, terrain, and other obstacles. However, selecting the right model depends less on autonomy itself and more on whether the site contains fragmented landscaping, extensive open turf, or carefully maintained professional playing surfaces.

PUDU GT3 combines mowing with everyday cleanup

The PUDU GT3 is the smallest and most versatile member of the series. Its 36-inch (91 cm) cutting width makes it better suited to business parks, campuses, hospitals, and commercial properties with narrow paths, irregular lawns, and multiple disconnected work zones. These are environments where a larger mower could be difficult to maneuver efficiently.

Unlike a conventional robotic mower focused only on grass, the GT3 combines mowing, grass collection, and light debris pickup on turf. Integrated disc brushes also let it sweep paths, road edges, and boundaries between lawns and paved surfaces. This reduces the need to switch between separate mowing and light-cleaning machines during routine grounds maintenance.

That flexibility is also its main advantage over the other models. The GT3 can move between different surface types and handle frequent cleanup tasks around a property. Its limitation is scale: the narrower cutting deck is not positioned as the fastest solution for very large, open lawns. Contractors primarily concerned with covering maximum acreage will find the GT5 more appropriate.

PUDU GT5 prioritizes coverage and productivity

The PUDU GT5 is a 60-inch (152 cm) rotary mower designed for parks, residential communities, campuses, and other large commercial turf areas. Its wider deck increases the amount of grass covered during each pass, making it the productivity-oriented option in the lineup.

Pudu targets an operating efficiency of approximately 2 acres (8,090 square meters) per hour. Depending on operating conditions, the mower can run for up to 10 hours and cover as much as 16 acres (65,000 square meters) on one charge. Those figures make the GT5 the clearest fit for landscaping contractors and facilities teams managing extensive lawns on repeated schedules.

The machine cuts and collects clippings, leaves, and light turf debris in a single pass. Collecting material while mowing can produce a cleaner result and reduce follow-up work, although actual runtime and coverage will naturally vary with terrain, grass conditions, maneuvering, and collection demands. Unlike the GT3, the GT5 is optimized for open-area throughput rather than mixed hardscape cleaning. It also lacks the specialized reel-cutting system that distinguishes the GT7.

PUDU GT7 targets golf and professional sports turf

The PUDU GT7 is the specialist model. It uses a 62-inch (160 cm) triplex reel configuration intended for golf courses, professional sports fields, and other locations where cutting consistency matters more than general-purpose cleanup. Three independently floating reel units follow changes in terrain, helping the machine maintain a more consistent height of cut across uneven surfaces.

Operators can adjust the cutting height without tools and configure mowing angles, lane offsets, and directional rotations. These controls support repeatable patterns and professional striping rather than simply reducing grass height. RTK, LiDAR, and camera vision provide autonomous navigation, with RTK positioning accuracy claimed at up to plus or minus 2.5 cm under supported conditions.

Four-wheel drive and a stated climbing capability of up to 30 degrees expand the range of terrain the GT7 can handle. Its electric platform and low-noise reel system should also be useful at golf courses and sports facilities where engine noise could disturb players, spectators, or nearby activities. The tradeoff is specialization: organizations that need pavement sweeping or maximum rotary-mowing throughput may gain more practical value from the GT3 or GT5.

Shared autonomy does not make the models interchangeable

Across the series, an AI-native perception system supports autonomous mapping, navigation, and obstacle avoidance. All three models also incorporate a fan vacuum and dedicated grass-intake port for collection during operation. Autonomous dumping and task resumption are available depending on how each machine is deployed, so buyers will need to confirm the configuration required for those functions.

Manual drive mode remains available for mowing, positioning, and unusual tasks that require operator judgment. This is an important feature for commercial sites, where temporary obstacles, changing work zones, or sensitive turf may make full autonomy unsuitable for every part of a job. Emergency-stop functionality provides another layer of operational control.

The GT models share an all-metal body, commercial-grade steel chassis, and IP66-rated protection. Even so, the buying decision is clearly segmented: choose the GT3 for compact mixed-surface properties, the GT5 for high-volume rotary mowing, or the GT7 for precision reel mowing and repeatable turf presentation.

Pricing has not been announced. Pudu Robotics will publicly debut the PUDU GT Series at GaLaBau 2026, held September 15–18 at Nurnberg Messe in Nuremberg, Germany, with displays at Indoor Stand 9-214 and the outdoor Legend Demonstration Area Pf10.
