LG Alpha 11 Gen3 Expands to Micro RGB evo TVs Excerpt:

LG ELECTRONICS INTRODUCES AN AWARD-WINNING AI TV EXPERIENCE AT IFA 2026

LG Electronics will showcase its 2026 AI TV lineup at IFA 2026, with the Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3, personalized webOS features, and LG Shield security forming the core of the experience. Instead of treating artificial intelligence as a single picture mode, LG is applying it across image processing, audio, content discovery, troubleshooting, user profiles, and data protection.

Alpha 11 Gen3 Brings AI Processing to More Displays

The Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3 first appeared in the 2026 LG OLED evo series and is now being extended to the company’s ultra-large Micro RGB evo TVs. LG claims that its neural processing unit delivers 5.6 times higher performance than the 2025 Alpha 9 AI Processor Gen8, alongside improved CPU and GPU capabilities.

That extra processing capacity supports AI Dual 4K Upscaling, which combines two AI-based methods to improve the clarity of lower-resolution video. The practical value will depend heavily on the quality of the source: compressed streaming video and older broadcasts may look cleaner, but upscaling cannot recreate every detail that was absent from the original material.

AI Sound Pro also uses the processor to create a Virtual 11.1.2-channel presentation. This can produce a wider and more dimensional soundstage through the TV, although viewers seeking physical surround effects and stronger bass may still prefer a dedicated soundbar or speaker system.

Personal Profiles Make the TV Less Generic

Voice ID is designed to recognize who is speaking and automatically open that person’s profile. Recommendations can then reflect the individual’s viewing history and preferences rather than combining the habits of everyone in the household. This feature should be particularly useful for families sharing one TV, provided each person is comfortable using voice recognition.

The AI Concierge takes a more proactive approach by analyzing viewing habits and suggesting content, search terms, and relevant webOS 26 functions. It is accessed through the AI button on the remote and presents information in cards without requiring viewers to leave the current program.

An AI Chatbot for Everyday TV Problems

LG is also using conversational AI to simplify adjustments that might otherwise require searching through several settings menus. The AI Chatbot can interpret a plain-language complaint such as a screen appearing too dark, identify the likely setting involved, and guide the viewer through a possible correction.

This is a practical use of TV-based AI because picture and sound menus have become increasingly complex. However, the chatbot should be viewed as a guided support tool rather than an automatic solution for every display issue. Room lighting, source quality, external devices, and panel characteristics can also influence what users see and hear.

LG Shield Addresses the Privacy Side of Personalization

Features such as voice recognition and personalized recommendations require TVs to handle more user information. LG Shield responds with seven security technologies covering algorithms, data storage, transmission, authentication, software integrity, secure updates, and security-event detection. The system is intended to reduce risks including unauthorized access, data leakage, and software tampering.

The 2026 televisions also include up to five years of complimentary webOS upgrades. Longer software support can help keep smart features useful after purchase, although LG has not detailed in this announcement whether every model or region will receive identical functionality throughout that period.

The lineup will be demonstrated at IFA 2026 in Berlin from September 4 to 8. Exact model availability and pricing were not announced, so buyers will still need model-specific details before comparing panel technology, screen size, connectivity, and gaming capabilities. Overall, LG Electronics is positioning its new TVs as personalized entertainment systems, with the strongest distinction coming from the combination of improved processing, individual profiles, guided controls, and integrated security.
