Koopmans Yacht Designers and the renowned Dutch-Danish design company Powerhouse Company do the redesign of these models. The existing successful models were adapted to the contemporary requirements of modern yachts. Nanne de Ru and Charles Bessard, founders of Powerhouse Company, are responsible for the redesign of the ships and the design of the interior. Dick Koopmans is responsible for the technical details and safeguards the sailing properties of these models.
“In origin, the boats of Victoire have a magnificent outline. By adjusting the molds and cleaning up the form, the classic lines are more pronounced and come out much better”, says Nanne de Ru. In the new version of both the V37 and V42, the deck is made entirely of teak, making it very flat and clean. “We want to create a sense of space and tranquillity on the deck by integrating all details into the beautiful teak”, says Charles Bessard. The interior has been completely modernized. De Ru: “There is much emphasis on the experience of space, while the comfort and convenience is enhanced. We took a good look
at the functionality of the kitchen, and adapted it to modern demands. Simultaneously we made a truly multi-functional seating area in which you can have a cosy dinner, but also read a book.”
Currently, the construction of the first ships is being prepared. Coming summer, the first yacht will enter the water and the new V42 will be shown in September at the Hiswa boat show in IJmuiden, The Netherlands.
