Capturing Streaming Video Using Movavi Screen Recorder

Practically everywhere you look nowadays there may seem to be streaming videos across all sorts of platforms and websites. While watching these videos is often convenient, if you were hoping to save any of them to watch offline or on a different device you’d end up disappointed.

For the most part streaming videos don’t have an option that will let you ‘save’ the video, or ‘download’ it in any way. That is why if you’re hoping to do so it may be a good idea to use Movavi Screen Recorder instead.

As you may have guessed, Movavi Screen Recorder can be used to record videos from your screen, and in this case you can use it to capture streaming videos then save them. Once you launch it, the first thing you should do is define the capture area, and if the streaming video is a window you can draw a frame over it using the mouse cursor immediately.

On the other hand if the streaming video is going to be in ‘full screen’ mode, you can click anywhere so that Movavi Screen Recorder’s interface appears. When it does you should expand the list under ‘Capture Area’ and select your monitor’s name in the ‘Full Screen’ section.

It goes without saying that you undoubtedly want to record the audio from the streaming video as well, in which case you should check that the ‘System Audio’ icon is highlighted. Generally it should be highlighted by default, but if not you can click on it once to toggle it.

Aside from that there isn’t much else to set up, and you can start recording by pressing ‘REC’ and play the streaming video then use the ‘Cancel’, ‘Pause’ or ‘Stop’ buttons on Movavi Screen Recorder’s interface to control the recording. Before you start recording you could click on the ‘alarm clock’ icon and use the features there to automate it instead.

When the streaming video is done and the recording stops it will automatically be saved in MKV format. At the same time Movavi Screen Recorder will let you preview the footage, trim out any unwanted segments, and then save the video in any other format that you may prefer.

That is really all you need to know about how to capture streaming video using Movavi Screen Recorder. As you can see it is very straightforward, and after you attempt it once you should have no problems in the future.
