Running on Android 4.1, the new Harris InTouch RPC-200 operates on both public safety band 14 LTE and commercial 2G/3G/4G cellular networks. As a rugged smartphone, the compact device optimized for public safety critical operating environments, including immersion, drop, and extended temperature range. Just like general Android smartphones, the Harris InTouch RPC-200 allows users to download and install third-party applications. And last but not least, the InTouch also features 4-inch display, HDMI video and 5 MP still-image cameras.
“The Harris InTouch smartphone brings together enormous capability for today’s first responders,†said Steve Marschilok, president, Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications. “InTouch is a compact device in a true rugged package that brings voice, critical video and situational information straight to the public safety user over both today’s commercial LTE networks and tomorrow’s Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network.â€
